A Spiritual Look at Immigration
Immigration is a subject around which passions seem to run high. And I am in no way expressing any point of view here.
But I did want to suggest that there can be benefit to bringing a Spiritual perspective to practical issues. I’ll try to apply two Spiritual (also practical) principles to the topic of immigration.
For example, some Spiritual teachings emphasize the importance of protection, that we must protect ourselves and be strong before are able to assist others. Otherwise nobody can benefit. Perhaps this perspective might lead to a more restrictive immigration policy?
What about “Love thy neighbor as thyself?" Depending upon one’s general thinking about the benefits of this approach, perhaps this perspective might lead to a more open immigration policy?
